‘It’s disappointing, it’s shocking’: Supermarkets charging LESS for produce with plastic packaging
New data shows that produce wrapped in plastic is cheaper 73% of the time.
Campaign Manager for the Australian Marine Conversation Society, Cip Hamilton, told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons they are calling for accountability from the supermarkets.
“We’re in the midst of a cost of living crisis, we have an environmental crisis and we’re being charged more to avoid plastic packaging in our weekly shop.” Ms Hamilton said.
