Lismore floods creates a food crisis
Major David Collinson from the Salvos joins Luke Grant to talk about the sort of assistance they are providing given the extraordinary pressures on even the most basic necessities in the flood affected Lismore area.
As floodwaters recede, four out of the seven major supermarkets in Lismore were inundated and the shelves at the remaining three had been stripped bare. Due to the town has being cut-off by road resupplies of food and petrol have not been able to get in.
The provision of food and bedding is where organisations like the Salvos step in.
