Major airlines follow budget carriers in charging for carry-on luggage
Low-cost airlines are passengers for carry-on luggage, and larger carriers are following suit.
United and Air Canada have introduced fees for carry-on luggage to combat the demand for overhead space.
Aviation Writer for The Australian Robyn Ironside told Shane Doherty on Summer Drive, “I do think there’s also that irresistible allure of more ancillary revenue, and so it’s easy to see that perhaps they will go down that path in the name of offering passengers more choice.”
