Maritime staff furious over ‘Ferry McFerryface’
The Maritime Union of Australia says its staff are furious over the newly-named Sydney Harbour ferry ‘Ferry McFerryface’.
Assistant Secretary of the MUA Sydney branch Paul Garrett has told 2GB’s Ray Hadley he’s furious with the decision.
“The Transport Minister is demonstrating here that he treats public transport as a joke.”
Ray has also revealed other ministers think Andrew Constance is a dope for approving the publicly voted name.
Mr Garrett admits his union regularly fails to see eye-to-eye with the Liberal Party, but says this decision is a step too far.
“He’s taking the absolute Mickey out of public transport in this state.”
“Sydney ferries have an iconic history with Sydney Harbour and are named after iconic beaches and iconic Olympians. The workers are just frustrated with it Ray.”
