MG launches our most affordable electric vehicle – the MG ZS EV SUV
A premium purchase price is the downside with electric cars at the moment – early adopters paying heavily both in terms of purchase price and future re-sale value – the latter obviously affected by the move to price parity of electric cars with petrol models in around five years time. That’s why MG’s new ZS EV SUV is good news for consumers – at $43,990 drive-away making it our most affordable battery electric vehicle, its closest SUV electric rival Hyundai’s Kona priced at $60,740 plus on-road costs. The first MG ZS EV shipment of 100 vehicles has just arrived and is all but spoken for – unlike the petrol ZS which comes with a seven-year warranty the EV version only gets five years/unlimited kilometre coverage while the battery pack is covered for 8-years or 160,000 kms. Service intervals are pegged at 10,000kms or 12 months whichever comes first.
