Two reports, one from state police and the other by federal police, have painted a very diverse picture of crime in Queensland.

Local police find overall crime is down about 1% overall with personal crime offences up and things like murder and manslaughter down.. while federal police have identified cocaine and especially steroids as big issues.

Leading criminologist Dr Terry Goldsworthy from Bond University tells Mark there is a link between drugs and crime rates.
