National Days for February 19

Mike Jeffreys

Mike is joined by Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, Psychiatrist & Social Commentator, who sees the recent anti-Israel rants as a wake-up call for peace-loving Muslims.

As a doctor at Bankstown Hospital – the workplace of the two nurses caught on video making antisemitic threats – Ahmed feels their outburst has tarnished the important work of many. While shocking, he notes that antisemitism remains a deep-seated issue within some Muslim communities, often ignored or denied.

What’s most troubling is that these remarks came from respected community members. While the nurses may face suspension or dismissal, Ahmed hopes this incident prompts reflection – urging Muslims to separate frustration with Israel’s actions from hatred toward Jews.
