New analysis reveals older drivers are overrepresented in fatal car accidents

Bill McDonald

A new analysis by Road Safety Education Limited (RSE) has revealed that older drivers are now overrepresented in road fatalities.

Head of program delivery at RSE, John Elliott told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “It’s not them necessarily making more mistakes, but when those mistakes happen they are less able to bounce back than younger people.”

The analysis also revealed that regional roads continue to be the deadliest for Australian drivers.
