Police officers being left to foot the bill for life-saving equipment

Queensland Police officers currently have to supply their own tourniquets which could be the difference between life and death.

QPS Union President Shane Prior told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “The work environment of police in this state has become extraordinarily dangerous.”

“We’ve got 12 officers a week being seriously assaulted and people are more willing to engage in violent behaviour towards police.”

“That is why we need the appropriate material to save our own lives in the event something like this happens,” Shane Prior said.
