Premier David Crisafulli to expand Adult Crime, Adult Time laws

Over the weekend, it was announced that the state government will add 12 more offences to the Adult Crime, Adult Time.

The new offences will include rape, attempted murder, aggravated attempted robbery, torture, and arson.

Voice for Victims spokesperson Trudy Reading told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, “You can add as many crimes as you like.”

“But it has to be backed up by the judiciary, we need to make sure that we’re seeing the judiciary, the judges follow through and meet community expectations as to how long we feel these kids need to be away for,” Ms Reading continued.
