Prince Harry vs Murdoch tests media trust

Mike Jeffreys

Mike is joined by Associate Professor Johan Lidberg from the School of Media, Film and Journalism about trust in the media as Prince Harry takes legal action against Rupert Murdoch’s UK newspaper group.

The lawsuit alleges that journalists from The Sun and the now-defunct News of the World used “unlawful news gathering techniques” to invade his privacy, with the trial set to begin this week in London’s High Court.

He sees the trial as a chance to reignite discussions on trust in journalism, stressing that without it, the media cannot fulfill its role as an independent watchdog.
