Princess Alexandra brings security ‘in house’
Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital has decided to bring its security services in house over concerns about the increasing threat of violence directed at staff.
There had been reports the hospital was considering ‘paramilitary style’ security officers but the hospital’s CEO has flatly rejected that characterisation.
Sandra Eales from the Queensland Nurses and Midwives Union has welcomed the move and tells Mark it’s just the latest measure to make work safer for the hospital’s nursing staff.
