Push to boost migration while the system “gridlocked”
Abul Rizvi, Former deputy secretary of the Department of Immigration & author of “Population Shock”, joins Michael to discuss the Albanese government flagging that they will raise Australia’s permanent migration intake, to be discussed at next month’s jobs summit.
Business groups have been calling for 200,000 skilled migration places to address Australia’s labour shortages though Mr Rizvi describes the agency overseeing the migration programme as in “absolute gridlock”.
