‘Put the egos away’: David Littleproud calls for vision in rebuilding North Queensland roads

Flooding is still causing chaos across North Queensland with the Bruce Highway cut off in multiple spots and over 300 roads are closed.

The rainfall and flooding in the region was rarer than a one-in-2000-year event.

National’s Leader David Littleproud told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “I was an emergency services minister and I remember we rebuilt the same bridge three times.”

“Why wouldn’t we build it to a higher standard so it doesn’t get washed out?”

“This is where you just need some common sense and put the egos away between state and federal governments… where there needs to be betterment, you build it better,” Mr. Littleproud said.
