QPUE President launches campaign to curb domestic violence once and for all
The Queensland Police Service are attending 526 DV occurrences every day in what can only be described as a crisis.
The cops are calling for domestic violence to be treated as a standalone criminal offence to take the burden off victims and making it easier for police to act.
QPS Union President Shane Prior told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “We’re at crisis levels, we’re on track to reach 210,000 occurrences for domestic and family violence that police are attending to this financial year.”
“We cannot keep this going, victims are at greater risk than they ever have and police are at burnout,” Mr. Prior said.
