Queensland disaster readiness report is a damning indictment on all levels of government

The report into the disaster management of Queensland’s 2023-24 weather events has been released, and it is a damning indictment on all levels of government.

Queensland Minister for Industrial Relations Senator Murray Watt told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “When reports have got recommendations about how things can be improved, you want to listen to those.”

“The thing that we tried to do as a federal government was really work as cooperatively as we could with different levels of government. You might remember before we got elected, we had some pretty unseemly fights between different levels of government about who was responsible, you know, people not holding hoses and things like that,” Watt continued.
