‘Right the wrongs’: Nick Dametto urging state government to waive $3.2 million in COVID-19 fines

A Katter’s Australian Party MP is calling on the state government to remove the 2075 outstanding COVID-19 fines facing Queenslanders.

Nick Dametto wants all remaining fines, worth around $3.2 million, to be withdrawn and refunds issued to those who have already paid.

Mr Dametto told Shane Doherty on 4BC Summer Drive, ‘I think it’s a good chance now for the LNP government to maybe right the wrongs.’

‘I was in that state parliament and I heard the LNP criticising constantly some of the measures that the state Labor government at the time was making.’

‘So, this might be the time to turn things around,’ Mr Dametto said.
