Ronaldo Mulitalo: It’s not easy watching your mum cry
Sharks flyer Ronaldo Mulitalo owes everything to his mother. After a rough upbringing in South Auckland, Mulitalo has taken on an ambassadorial role with Stepping Stone House – a charity which helps keep young and vulnerable kids off the streets.
“Mum just had enough of it”. She said “if you want to try your luck in Australia, I’m willing to do it”.
The rest is history. Mulitalo just signed a new deal with the Sharks, got chosen in Queensland’s 33 man State of Origin squad and is now repaying the faith shown in him by his mother. Not only is he giving back to his family, he’s using his platform to help kids who can’t help themselves, inspired by his own journey.
The young winger is encouraging teammates and fans of the NRL to get five mates together and each donate %5 to help build a future for underprivileged kids. It’s called the Give 5, Get 5 campaign and is hoping to raise $10,000 in the next month.
