With the first game of State of Origin six weeks away, team selections are already a hot topic. 

The debate regarding Queensland’s fullback has begun, with Kalyn Ponga and Reece Walsh emerging as the frontrunners.

Canberra Raider, Queensland Maroon, and Kanagraoo, Gary Belcher told Jason Matthews, “It really depends on the make up I think you’ve got to have Kalyn Ponga somewhere there.”

“I think Reece Reece Walsh is a little bit off at the moment, but there’s still some time to go before Origin. If he strings a few of his best games together, he’s got to be in the mix.”

“Kalyn Ponga [has] probably got his nose in front for mine at the moment,” Mr Belcher continues.
