SEQ hospitals prepare for Tropical Cyclone Alfred and protecting the medically vulnerable
As Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaches Southeast Queensland, it is important to protect the medically vulnerable and be aware of hospital services operation throughout the unfolding situation.
Australian Medical Association Queensland President Dr Nick Yim told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “Each region will have a different strategy in place, as we need to ensure staff and patients are safe… all emergency departments will remain open.”
“This is an opportunity to prepare your own medical resources, people that rely on medications, make sure you have an adequate supply, start freezing ice in case your medication needs refrigeration and make sure you have batteries,” Dr Yim continued.
