Seqwater keeping a close watch on water levels

Southeast Queenslanders are using water at rates not seen since the Millennium Drought.

In January the average consumption per person was 239 litres, compared to the 170 litres-per-person which had been the average over the last decade.

The region’s water supply dams are currently at a combined 72% but if they slip below 70% authorities will introduce the region’s drought plan.

Seqwater spokesman Mike Foster tells Mark we’re still a long way from water restrictions.
