‘Shocking’: Deb Frecklington responds as second teen involved in Emma Lovell case walks free

The second teenager who was present at the North Lakes home of Emma and Lee Lovell when Emma was killed on Boxing Day 2022 has walked free.

Justice Michael Copley found him guilty of burglary and assault in company and sentenced the teen to 18 months in jail, but due to time already served, the 19-year-old is out in the community ahead of the second anniversary of Emma Lovell’s death.

The Attorney-General, Deb Frecklington told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “The Emma Lovell case, and what Lee Lovell and his beautiful daughters and family have had to go through, quite frankly… has been shocking.’

“I’m going to be considering all of the aspects available to me and seek advice around what legal options I have as Attorney-General in this state.”

“If we ever needed a greater example for tougher laws, tougher sentencing guidelines, it is this case.”

“It’s just heartbreaking that we have to even be talking about it,” she said.
