Story Bridge Adventure Climb opens ‘world first’ accessible bridge climb
The Story Bridge Adventure Climb has today opened the world’s first accessible bridge climb.
People with accessibility requirements will now be able to climb the iconic bridge in a specially designed wheelchair, leaving from Howard Smith Wharves.
Howard Smith Wharves CEO, Luke Fraser, told Sofie Formica, “Just because you are not as able-bodied or you might just have accessibility challenges, doesn’t mean you don’t want to do adventure activities.”
“And that’s what we’re doing here today, it’s a world first, it’s a special, state-of-the-art wheelchair that’s been designed to be able to climb up the story bridge right to the very peak.”
