The starving Fraser Island dingo myth

The recent attack by a dingo on Fraser Island that saw one of the wild dogs drag a 14 month old boy from his camper had some speculating that it was because the island’s dingo population is starving.

It’s a theory that has been a bone of contention for some time.

Linda Behrendorff is a Parks and Wildlife Service ranger who has been studying dingoes for past four years for a PhD and she tells Mark people would be surprised by the variety of foods the dogs actually eat on the island.
