Anthony Albanese has launched an official protest against Beijing after a Chinese fighter aircraft fired flares in front of an Australian military plane in the South China Sea.
Canberra has labelled an “unsafe and unprofessional interaction” in international airspace, while China has condemned the ADF over what it claims was a “deliberate intrusion” into China’s airspace.
It comes as three Chinese warships were spotted operating in the Coral Sea off North Queensland, one of which passed through the Torres Strait
