“These are warlike actions” – How Australia should respond to China’s aggression.

Luke Grant

Anthony Albanese has launched an official protest against Beijing after a Chinese fighter aircraft fired flares in front of an Australian military plane in the South China Sea.

Canberra has labelled an “unsafe and unprofessional interaction” in international airspace, while China has condemned the ADF over what it claims was a “deliberate intrusion” into China’s airspace.

It comes as three Chinese warships were spotted operating in the Coral Sea off North Queensland, one of which passed through the Torres Strait

Luke Grant chats with the Director of Strategic Analysis Australia, Michael Shoebridge, about how Australia should respond to the aggressions, and at what point are such provocations considered an act of war.
