New research shows 60% of primary schoolchildren in Australia don’t walk or cycle to school, even when they live within just 750m of their school.
The research by a team at the Australian Catholic University sounds the alarm that parents are creating a “backseat generation” of children.
Dr Alison Carver from the Mary MacKillop Institute for Health Research tells Mark one solution might be creating safe pick up and drop off zones 800m from primary schools.
