Threatened Queensland racing strike ‘on hold’
Queensland’s four major horse racing groups have placed threatened strike action over the Palaszczuk Government’s new betting tax ‘on hold’.
The Racing Industry Participants Alliance wants a share of the new Point Of Consumption tax and has been willing to boycott local meetings to coincide with the Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup.
Alliance spokesman Cameron Partington tells Mark the industry believes it best to give negotiations with the government some clear air.
