Tradie shortages

John Stanley

The cost of building a home has risen by its slowest quarterly pace in a year, climbing by just 1.9 per cent nationwide over the December quarter and is likely to slow further in the next 12 months as demand falls.

This is welcomed news for homeowners that want to renovate.

However, the next issue homeowners are facing is there are not enough tradies available to work. The loss of international workers during the global pandemic has brought Australia’s labour and skill shortage into focus.
