Michael is joined by Tan Nguyen, Spokesman National Oral Health Alliance, following a survey by the Australian Dental Association revealing over two-thirds of Australians have not been to see a dentist in two years.

Dentists are concerned that people are often delaying treatment because it is not seen as a life-threatening problem, particularly when faced with rising cost of living pressures as inflation continues to climb.

The Greens pushed free dental care as an election promise earlier this year.  Currently Medicare doesn’t cover most dental care (including procedures and supplies like cleanings, fillings, tooth extractions, dentures, dental plates, or other dental devices).
