V’landys confident all postponed fixtures will be played before Monday night
Chair of the ARL Commission Peter V’landys has told The Continuous Call Team he hopes all the Round 20 fixtures will be completed by Monday night.
At this stage, V’landys believes three games will be played tomorrow and the remaining two matches on Monday.
The NRL are implementing more stringent biosecurity protocols to try and get the game back as quickly as possible.
One of those measures will be reducing the number of people who are at the stadiums on Game Day.
V’landys says “it’s been a challenging day to say the least”.
But he is focused on the job at hand and praises the Queensland Government and Premier for their support
In terms of next week, contingency plans are being put in place, however the hope is that the competition will go ahead as planned for next weekend.
“I’m just hoping the lockdown is lifted on Tuesday and we can go back to normal in Queensland and see the next five rounds out and possibly the Semi Finals and then make a decision on the Grand Final”.
The ARL Commission Chairman is confident a decision will be finalised on the rescheduled fixtures some point this evening to provide players and clubs with certainty.
