Walking with dinosaurs in Winton
Finding dinosaur bones is rare, but finding their preserved footprints is equally special.
An hour-and-a-half’s drive from Winton palaeontologists have been working to save a 55 metre long trackway in a dry river bed which contains the footprints of three different kinds of dinosaurs.
Leading the work has been Dr Stephen Poropat from the Swinburne University of Technology and he tells Mark it’s a good thing the project was well advanced because the site is now under flood waters.
