Was it a just trial? Why Brisbane Metro has been cancelled and when will it return

The highly anticipated Brisbane Metro has been halted just four weeks after its launch, with the Brisbane City Council in negotiations with the state government over several ongoing teething issues.

Brisbane Metro might return next year, but the future of the $1.5 billion project is still uncertain.

There has been widespread criticism of the council for running the Brisbane Metro as a trial, but not telling the public.

Councillor Ryan Murphy told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “Perhaps we’ve failed in communicating that clearly, I accept that and I apologise to anyone who feels that they’ve been misled.”
