Why do new homes have more problems than old ones?

Old homes don’t seem to have the same issues as new ones, like ceiling leaks and wall cracks—so is it due to less skilled builders or the use of lower-quality materials?

Building and property development expert from LEFTA, Steve Chandler told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “It seems to be all these modern homes have got cracking problems two or three years into their life.”

“It’s because the way that we build is very different now than what we did back then,” Mr Chandler continued.
