Police finalise investigation into ‘Egg Boy’ incident
Controversial Senator Fraser Anning won’t be charged after lashing out at a teenage boy who egged him in Melbourne.
17-year-old Will Connolly gained worldwide attention when he filmed himself cracking an egg on the head of Senator Anning during a press conference last month.
The 69-year-old threw two punches at the boy before several of his supporters tackled him to the ground.
Victoria Police have today confirmed the teen, who became known as egg boy, has received a caution.
While Senator Anning will not face any charges, as he was acting in self-defence.
“The 17-year-old Hampton boy has been issued with an official caution in relation to the incident.
“A decision has been made not to charge the 69-year-old man.
“On assessment of all the circumstances, the 69-year-old’s actions were treated as self-defence and there was no reasonable prospect of conviction.”
They are still trying to track down a man who kicked the 17-year-old while he was pinned to the ground.
