Police hose down fears of bikie war after violent weekend on Gold Coast
Gold Coast police have set up a task force to tackle tensions within bikie gangs following a violent weekend.
Five stabbings, a shooting and a strip club brawl have taken place since Friday night.
Police are investigating possible links to the Mongols, Bandidos and Comancheros outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Regional Crime Coordinator, Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith said there’s no concern for public safety at this stage.
“You know what?” Neil Breen said. “I think the public should be alarmed…”
