Australians will be able to travel to far off destinations without a stop-over.

Qantas has unveiled new non-stop routes to cities including London and New York.

12 new Airbus A350-1000s are on order with scheduled flights starting out of Sydney by the end of 20-25

18-24 hour direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne to London and New York will take off in 2025 on a fleet of new Airbus A350-1000s.

Aviation expert at Strategic Aviation Solutions, Neil Hansford says it’s very significant.

He says it will cost more, with fewer people on board.

It’s not something for everybody, Scott,” he told Scott Emerson.

“If you’re going to have your gap year and head off to London to start your travelling, this is to gong to be fir you.

“It will never get down to those low fares we had pre COVID, simply because the cost of the aircraft … is going to be significant.”

He says it will suit people who are travelling for a family event, such as a funeral, or business travellers.

He predicts the Brisbane-London route will be on the cards, with flights running a few times a week.
