Price of humble Bunnings snag raised for first time in 15 years
Australia’s cost of living crisis has hit the humble Bunnings sausage sizzle, where prices are set to rise for the first time in years.
From July 23, the price of a sausage sanga will set you back $3.50, up from $2.50.
The good news is onions will still be a free add-on and drinks will stay steady at $1.50.
The hardware company says it was forced to make the call after receiving extensive feedback from community groups.
Not-for-profits, community groups and charities have used the sales as an opportunity to fundraise for more than 25 years.
They say as a result of the rising cost of sausage sizzle staples, the stalls were seeing a significant downturn in what they’d raised by the time the barbecues are switched off.
