QLD Opposition Leader confident she’d pull the state out of its struggle

Queensland’s Opposition Leader is confident she’d be able to bridge a divide between the city and the bush, and bring the state back to prosperity.

Deb Frecklington left behind a career as a lawyer to pursue politics, after realising she was doing a whole lot of whinging from the sidelines.

She tells Ray Hadley, “I think Queensland is really struggling at the moment under the Palaszczuk government hence why I have put my hand up for leader.”

Originally from the bush, but a long time city resident, Ms Frecklington thinks she’s in the perfect position to bridge a divide between the two.

QLD Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is still well ahead in the polls, Ms Frecklington says the current government is underperforming.

“They’re reviewing a lot of things Ray, but no outcomes are coming. No money is being spent.”

Queensland’s Liberal National Party leader says of her federal counterparts, she was thrilled with the Turnbull budget given the amount set aside for Queensland’s infrastructure.

On a state level, she admits, they just aren’t getting the same support.

Without intervention, the QLD Opposition Leader is concerned the brain drain currently affecting the state will continue – as residents flee to New South Wales.
