QLD pilot unknowingly caught up in British political storm
A Queensland pilot has unknowingly towed a banner having a crack at former UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who is in Australia filming I’m A Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!
Gary Biggs from Sky Ads has been caught up in a media storm in the UK after flying the banner in the NSW hinterland, where the show is being filmed.
Hancock had to leave his role in disgrace after CCTV emerged of him kissing his political aide, breaking his own COVID guidelines at the time.
There was uproar in the UK when it was announced he would be appearing on the reality TV show.
A group called COVID-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK organised for the message over the Celebrity Camp calling for Matt Hancock to go home, it read: “Covid bereaved say get out of here!”
“We didn’t know what the sign was going to say until 8am that morning, it was a complete mystery,” Mr Biggs told Neil Breen.
He joked it made an interesting change from marriage proposals and gender reveals!
