Furious league fans are demanding a decision on who will host the NRL Grand Final as the date draws closer. 

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet improved his offer to league boss Peter V’landys late yesterday as Queensland stepped-up its pursuit of the showpiece.

The Palaszczuk government hopes to stage up to three NRL grand finals in the lead up to the 2032 Olympics.

The ARLC is weighing up late offers from both rival states, with a final decision expected today.

Chris ‘Choppy’ Close told Laurel, Gary & Mark he’s hopefully the Grand Final goes on the move this year.

“In Brisbane, I hope so,” he said. “We could probably do it [but] at the end of the day, who knows what they are going to do?

“I think they are trying to ante up with the NSW government and maybe it’ll work, maybe it won’t.

“But if it doesn’t we will get the Grand Final, there’s no doubt about that.”
