QLD weather: More storms, heavy rain and flash flooding on the way
There are predictions of thunderstorms, heavy rain and flash flooding across Queensland with more wild weather on the way.
The worst-affected areas could see more than 200 millimetres of localised downpours, sparking a huge risk of flash flooding.
Brisbane has also recorded its wettest spring in 11 years.
Weatherzone’s meteorologist Ben Domensino said there was widespread rain, with heavy falls in some areas, including the Darling Downs up to the Central Highlands with flash flooding likely.
“Further west, we are looking at falls potentially pushing up to that 50-100mm mark, in the space of about 12-24 hours,” he told Scott Emerson.
He said tomorrow could be more unpredictable, particularly for the south-east.
“Tomorrow will be a hit and miss with where that rain and thunderstorm activity develops, but there is a chance it will affect south-east Queensland.”
