Queensland gets green light for Olympics bid
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has given Queensland’s bid for the 2032 Olympics the green light.
Bids for the 2032 Olympics are due in 2021 and Queensland’s bid would focus on Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine coasts but includes events in Townsville, Cairns and the Whitsundays.
Australian Olympic Committee president John Coates tells Ross Greenwood it is the right time to bid for the games.
“It will have been 32 years between drinks and the rules have changed.”
