Queensland Health caught ‘bending over backwards’ for NRL off-season
NRL five-eighth Will Smith yesterday spoke to media on his first day on Titans turf, but a revelation has Neil Breen seeing red.
Smith was previously based in Sydney, playing for the Paramatta Eels, but has since made his way north to start with the Titans.
He explained to the media he’d spent two weeks in Tweed Heads before driving into Queensland to join training yesterday.

“Well hang on a second,” Neil said. “That’s in the border bubble, but you need to be an essential worker.”
Neil made enquiries with both the Gold Coast Titans and Queensland Health, who informed him Smith is considered an essential worker, because he can’t work from home.
“Queensland Health is bending over backwards and spending precious time with ways to get rugby league players in.
“If the Titans have to do without their third rung five-eighth for two weeks of training until December 17, then so be it!”
