Queensland Premier may face Senate inquiry on Olympic infrastructure
The reality of the Olympic infrastructure could be revealed to Queenslanders, as the Queensland Premier will be invited to face a Senate inquiry into the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
The inquiry was initially instigated due to the Queensland Premier’s decision to forgo an independent infrastructure agency.
Shadow Infrastructure Minister, Bridget McKenzie, told Peter Gleeson on 4BC Drive, “I really think in the interest of accountability and transparency, it really gives confidence to the broader public…if our public officials, and our senators, and our premiers allow themselves to be subjected to scrutiny.”
“And if it’s all as tickety-boo as she says, well she should have no dramas in rocking up and telling us how fabulous the games are going to be and how on track these projects all are,” Senator McKenzie continued.
