Queensland to ease close contact rules, scraps quarantine
Queensland will ease COVID-19 isolation rules for household contacts from next week.
From 6pm on Thursday, April 28, close contacts won’t be required to quarantine at home providing they test negative every two days and wear a mask indoors.
Currently, a range of workers are exempt from isolating for 7 days if they live with a COVID-positive person.
Quarantine will cease for unvaccinated international travellers from April 28.
Deputy Premier Steven Miles said other uses for quarantine facilities like Wellcamp will be considered as the pandemic winds down.
He noted the federal government-funded facility at Pinkenba will face the same consideration when construction ends in June.
