Queensland’s housing shortfalls exposed by new South-East Regional Plan
The latest South-East Queensland Regional Plan from the state government reveals housing supply shortages.
A draft regional plan has been unveiled, demonstrating the Palaszczuk Government’s aim to build almost 900,000 new homes by 2040.
Michael Roberts, Queensland Executive Director of the Housing Industry Association, told Peter Gleeson on 4BC Drive, “The concern we’ve got is that is what we have roughly been doing for the last ten years, and look where we are.”
“We’re of the view we need to be building north of 40,000 homes a year to meet the population growth,” Mr. Roberts continued.
