Queensland’s largest public school lacks adequate facilities for girls
Brisbane State High School lacks adequate facilities, following the revelation that there are no female change rooms on their sporting field in Carina.
Female students have been forced to change uniforms in the buses that transport them to the sporting field.
Bryce Corbett, Parent Representative of the Brisbane State High School Council, told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “It’s such a shame and it’s such a disconnect when you think about it. Brisbane State High School, it’s quite rightly the flagship public education institute in Queensland…”
“The facilities are out [Carina sporting field] there are basically inadequate, such that, half of the schools population are unable really to participate in sports…because there are not any female changing facilities for them.” Mr. Corbett continued.
