Queensland’s sluggish vaccination rate ‘hurting’ hospitality
The hospitality sector will be “significantly” impacted by the changes to capacity limits as some parts of Queensland go into Stage 2 restrictions.
For people in the Brisbane, Gold Coast, Moreton, Logan and Townsville/Palm Island LGAs it means one person/four square metres indoors, one person per two square metres outdoors you must be seated in hospitality venues.
Owner of the Mantle Hospitality Group, Godfrey Mantle, said it will have a significant impact.
“Our sector is really struggling right now it’s very, very hard for most operators, and especially the smaller ones, I really feel for them,” he told Scott Emerson.
He said there was a lot of fear in the community still.
“The worst thing is I think that Queensland is just struggling to get to a double dose of 80 per cent, and that’s well behind the other states and I think really hurting hospitality.”
