4BC’s Ray Hadley has teamed up with Parramatta Eels star Clint Gutherson to give a young fan the surprise of a lifetime.

12-year-old Malik, from Yamba on the NSW north coast, has been calling Ray for years talking about his love for the Eels and particularly their young gun fullback Gutherson.

Under the guise of wishing him a Merry Christmas, Ray asked Malik to call in.

Never in a million years did he expect who was waiting for him on the other end of the phone line.
