Economists are expecting another interest rate cut next week to bring the historic low of one per cent down further.

The Reserve Bank Governor Phillip Lowe used a speech to discuss local and international risks to the economy, hinting at another interest rate cut.

AMP Capital chief economist Shane Oliver tells Deborah Knight the cash rate will go down.

“If not next week then the month after.

“I agree that there are some things there that will keep the Aussie economy going, that we won’t go into recession.”
